Vacuum pipeline super high-speed rail: "Tongren No. 1" settled in Guizhou faster than Musk


Yesterday, Tongren City of Guizhou signed a cooperation agreement with Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (Hyperloop TT), which means that China's first super high-speed rail based on vacuum pipeline began construction. In fact, there are more than one company in the world that is developing and building a super high-speed rail for vacuum pipes. Let's take a look.

Hyperloop is equivalent to a generic term, which refers to the railway transportation technology based on vacuum pipeline. This idea was proposed by Tesla and SpaceX President Elon Musk, and open sourced to the technology industry. The two companies were founded and started to develop, namely HyperloopTT and Hyperloop One. Later, Musk's SpaceX and Boring also began to build Hyperloop, the first pipeline is located in Hawthorne, California.

The HyperloopTT super high-speed rail cooperated with Tongren City. The HyperloopTT high-speed rail was the earliest. In 2016, it was planned to build a test pipeline in the US terminal valley of California, but it was later cancelled. Currently, HyperloopTT is building test pipelines in France, including a closed 320-meter system that will be operational this year; a full-scale pipeline of 1 kilometer in length will be built in 2019.

The HyperloopTT super high-speed rail can reach speeds of up to 760 mph (about 1,223 km/h) and has more than half the speed of jet airliners, which will greatly shorten the travel distance. At the same time, HyperloopTT has the most extensive partners, including China, France, Czech Republic, Indonesia, South Korea, India, etc. The length of the first phase of Tongren City, Guizhou, China is expected to reach 10 kilometers.

The earliest test was actually Hyperloop One, which is also an American company. The first test pipeline of Hyperloop One was built in the desert of Huada, USA. It has completed three phases of testing and the maximum speed is 386 km/h. In addition, in October last year, the British Virgin Group invested in Hyperloop One, so there is Virgin Logo on its body.

In terms of cooperation, Hyperloop One has reached an agreement with Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands and other countries. The Abu Dhabi section of Saudi Arabia to the United Arab Emirates will be completed in 2030, and the speed is the same as the HyperloopTT super high-speed rail, which is 1,223 km/h.

Let's talk about Musk's Hyperloop. Previously, SpaceX hosted a Hyperloop vacuum cabin design competition, and Musk came to the site to test and award the winners. At the end of August last year, Musk released a test video with a speed of 324 km/h. Musk said that the final goal is around 5090 km/h, because his initial plan was to build a short-distance track to solve the traffic jam problem in the big cities of the United States.

Finally, there is a vacuum pipeline super high-speed rail project that is still in concept and has no prototype. It was developed by China Aerospace Science and Industry Group and called “Super High Speed ​​Rail 2.0”. Previously, the aerospace science and technology department said that the super high-speed rail 2.0 will be divided into three stages of research and development: the first stage will reach 1000 km/h, the second stage will build the national super-city group flight train transportation network, reaching 2000 km/h; the third stage, The ultimate goal of 4,000 km / h. If the target of 4,000 km/h can be achieved, it takes only 20 minutes to reach Shanghai from Beijing.
